Tamil Nadu unveils roadmap to build $1.5-trillion economy by 2031

Tamil Nadu's finance minister presented the 2026-27 budget, aiming for a $1.5 trillion economy by 2031. Anew industrial policy will foster innovation and technology-driven growth across emerging sectors. The government allocated significant funds for industries and introduced AI-powered investment platforms. New industrial parks will be established in backward districts, and Thoothukudi will become a space zone. The budget also detailed plans for India's first AI and Innovation city, 'Arivagam'.
